Job Overview:
As an L1 System Administrator, you will play a critical role in providing first-line technical support to our clients. You will be responsible for managing and troubleshooting day-to-day IT issues, ensuring that systems operate efficiently, and escalating complex problems to higher-level technicians when necessary. This role requires excellent communication skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Level 1 technical support via phone, email, or in-person to clients
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
- Monitor system performance and maintain system uptime across client infrastructures
- Assist in the deployment of new hardware, software, and network components
- Perform routine system checks and maintenance tasks, including backups and updates
- Document issues and resolutions in the company’s ticketing system
- Collaborate with higher-level technical teams to resolve escalated issues
- Ensure adherence to SLAs and client satisfaction metrics
- Stay updated with the latest industry technologies and best practices
Desired Technical Stack (MSP Technologies):
- Operating Systems: Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Linux (basic knowledge)
- Virtualization: VMware, Hyper-V
- Networking: Basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN
- Backup Solutions: Veeam, Datto
- Monitoring Tools: PRTG, SolarWinds, ConnectWise Automate
- Ticketing Systems: ConnectWise, Autotask
- Remote Support Tools: TeamViewer, LogMeIn
- Security Tools: Basic understanding of firewall management, antivirus tools (e.g., Bitdefender, Webroot)
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of experience in a technical support or system administration role, preferably within an MSP environment
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux server environments
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service and communication abilities
- Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft certifications are a plus
- Ability to work both independently and within a team
